You can learn alot about life from a refrigerator.....

...another lesson from the kitchen...

As all the holiday delectables moved into the fridge, the everyday foods got shoved to the back. My almonds went missing. As did my string cheese and protein bars. Each and every one of them were muscled out by fatty, gooey, calorie-laden, not-so-healthy-but-oh-so-good food. As I crammed in yet another dish---maybe it was the left over hot sausage or perhaps the burn almond torte--the yogurt must have fallen off the shelf down into the back cavern of the refrigerator....never to be seen again. Until now.

The holidays are over. It's time to clean out the fridge. No more leftovers. Time for a clean slate. No more mystery containers. Time to take an inventory. Time to check expiration dates. Time to pitch and purge and plan.
And, not just in my fridge....

New Years has that effect on me too...A new beginning...I can't remember how many times I've said "This is the first day of the rest of my life" But this time I really mean it. This is the year of changes for me...Grandchild coming , son moving across the country...I have to keep smiling and laughing, so I don't scream, and I am not sweating the small stuff...Thanks for always giving me thoughts to ponder.

LOL Judi!! I should send my two teenage sons over!! Left overs only last until the next day and they are gone along with my yogurts and string cheese! Great post!

I'll have to ask Jody to send her sons to my house too. My refrigerator is a disaster. I had intended to do it yesterday and didn't. Guess we'll both be doing the same thing today. That picture is priceless by the way.
