Riding out tonight to case the promised land.......

.....Hey what else can we do now
Except roll down the window
And let the wind blow back your hair.....

So....we're taking a road trip....one that mothers don't like to take. Well, at least this mother doesn't want to take it. It's the one where you return home with one less child in tow. I've packed up some of his favorite beef bbq, made sure he has enough DeCecco pasta and good cheese to get him through, I picked up a few nice hand towels with lighthouses on them for his bathroom and I splurged on some special scented candles to leave with him. He's forbidden me to get a wreath for his door or little knick knacks and wall hangings. But, let me tell you--he has every fancy kitchen gadget there is and every spice he may ever need. Just like when he was a kid....he wouldn't let me dress him all fancy. So, I made sure he had the best socks. It's just what I do.

Oh Thunder Road, sit tight take hold

Judi -

I had to laugh at the socks comment. My 1st born is the same way and I do the same thing with the socks!!!

Hang in there. I can only imagine how you feel. I joke about my teens driving me nuts and lending them out but they are truly extensions of me. Try to have a great weekend!

OMG! Vince! Your boy! Have a huge martini Judi (or 2 or 3)! Knowing how you must be feeling makes me want to cry myself. I will never forget how you cried over him going off to kindergarten (sorry, I just had to comment even though I never do!)Yu raised a smart boy. I knew it when he was just a little tike that he was a special guy.
BTW, I love you blog (does that make you feel better?). I just love your boy Vince!

P.S. We must plan a weekend visit with Vince! What fun we will have!

Judi,
Mom and I are happy to see you back to your humorous self! We hope you kicked ass with the people who were not nice with you! Your son is a cutie (did we expect less?)
You should have been here when we were talking about how you need to level the bad guys! We had so much fun beating up those bad guys!
Now,we are sorry to know that this weekend is a tuff one for you. But we can't even fix it for you in our way! We hope you weather it well!
We love you girl!
