The word for today is: Martini
I don't have to bellow from the roof tops that it's December 1.
Everyone knows it.
The calendar didn't even have to confirm it.
No need for additional angst or convulsions.
We all felt the anxiety of the upcoming season begin to trickle in around October.
Come November, as the days progressed, so did our levels of anxiety.
Once mid-November rolled around, we were almost busting at the seams with thoughts of what laid ahead of us.
As soon as we washed that last turkey globbed dish, we knew this day was near.
By the time we opened our eyes on Black Friday....we were certain that this day was on the horizon.
But, when the clock struck midnight last night--there was no denying what had just happened-- we felt the beads of sweat on the back of our necks and the slight tremble in our thighs and an uncharacteristically odd craving for fruitcake---December 1 had arrived.
I don't know about you but this girl thinks it's time for a martini.
I'm so glad this day arrived on the very same day as martini night.
