Happy Birthday...a little bit dirty style!

Here we go again.....another celebration smack dab in the middle of all the other celebrations!
Yes, Carmen is a Christmas baby.
We've got a day full of family fun to celebrate his 50+ 3 years experience birthday.
First stop.....one of our favorite places for martinis.
It's one of the only places around with Hendricks gin. (click there for a superb review on this amazing gin)
We like 'em dry, straight up, shaken....
Carmen--a little bit dirty. Me--with a twist.
They are pricey so we can't have them too often.
Oh...and did I mention that one drink is just enough, two is way too many?

Ooooh, they are smooooooooth......

So, yeah.....

We'll linger over our drinks.
Vince will enjoy an aritsan brew.
Toni will sit and look pretty, sipping her Shirley Temple.
Heavenly.

Then, it's on to lunch at the adjoining Grand Concourse--a beautifully restored train station on the banks of the river, with a gorgeous view of Pittsburgh.
We are so in love with their Charley's Chowder....a tasteful blend of whoknowshowmany seafoods in a tomatoey broth with a kick of heat. So fab!


What a perfect Pittsburgh place to spend a leisurely, delicious lunch, enjoy the sights and sounds on the banks of the river overlooking the city, reconnect with each other, get away from the hub bub of the holidays and enjoy some all-too-rare, family moments....




What could be better than a smooth martini, a luscious chowder, beautiful surroundings, a view of our beloved city and spending time with the 3 people in the world who matter the most to me?
